Taste Publishing is an independent press focused on high-concept commercial fiction.
We offer volunteer and internship-style opportunities for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in the publishing process. This is a collaborative, early-stage environment, designed for those who want to learn, contribute, and be part of building a curated fiction imprint from the ground up.
All roles are remote, part-time, and flexible. They are unpaid but structured to offer genuine, portfolio-building experience in a real publishing environment.

Current Opportunities
Editorial Intern — Copyediting / Proofreading
A three-month internship for anyone looking to develop editorial experience.
You will be involved in:
Copyediting fiction manuscripts
Proofreading for clarity, grammar, and consistency
Supporting the refinement of commercially focused stories
Work is flexible and project-based, depending on active submissions and selected titles.
What this role offers:
Duration: Three months
Completion bonus: £100 on successful completion
Reference letter: A reference letter on completion

This role suits anyone serious about a future in publishing or editorial work who wants something concrete and credible to point to.
Social Media Manager — Volunteer
We are looking for one person to manage the social media presence of Taste Publishing across Instagram.
This is a creative role with real autonomy. You will help shape how Taste Publishing presents itself online, with direct input from the founder.
You may be involved in:
Creating and scheduling content around new titles, submissions, and publishing life
Building an audience interested in dark, high-concept commercial fiction
Developing the visual and tonal identity of the press on social platforms
Engaging with the wider book community — readers, writers, and reviewers

Beta Readers
We are building a small group of volunteer readers to read early manuscript drafts and provide honest feedback on pacing, clarity, and reader engagement, supporting the development of books before publication.
No experience required. Read, and tell us what you actually think.
Who This Is For
